‘Prayers for Bobby,’ which aired Saturday night on Lifetime, is a must-see made-for-TV movie based on a true story.
This is the story of a mother, played by Sigourney Weaver, and her passage from religious denial to compassionate acceptance of her gay son’s sexuality - and goodness.
In sharing her story, she gives each of us an opportunity for better understanding.
The movie encores on Tuesday, January 27, at 9 p.m. ET/PT and 8 p.m. CT.
Please share this information with others. Thanks!

Thanks BJ - It does look like a good movie about a very important subject. Young gay people die all the time due to ignorance. Perhaps the Pope could tune in and learn a thing or two. :) Michael
BJ, thanks for giving folks another reminder of this excellent story, sad though it is, as to how ignorance can destroy lives.
Hopefully, lessons learned by Bobby's mother will be a stepping stone for others of her past caliber to be more open minded to the diverseness in God's creations.
No two things or beings have the exact same features like finger prints etc. Yet we are all human beings with the same basis needs.
No two people have the same idea of God or no God, yet all religions believe in only One God regardless of the name used for such.
Hopefully, people will put away their petty hates and diversive prejudices of human beings differences and come together with all our similarities. In doing so, human beings can live in peace and harmony with our fellow humans.
