Jesus Guns?

DemWit can never resist pointing out an idiot, but it’s downright scary when that idiot is speaking for CentCom.

Perhaps you’ve heard the ABC News reports that biblical scriptures are engraved on guns used by the U.S. military in Muslim lands – so-called “Jesus Guns.”

The CentCom spokesman has made a statement that ranks right up there with George W. Bush referring to our military efforts to combat terrorists as a “crusade.” That silver spoon in Dubya’s mouth never yielded a silver tongue. I remember him standing with Vladimir Putin in a Texas school and repeatedly referring to a red-haired boy who had asked a question as “Red” – a moniker for Communists in mid-20th Century. (I digress.)

According to ABC News:

“ …. A spokesperson for CentCom, the U.S. military's overall command in Iraq and Afghanistan, said he did not understand why the issue was any different from U.S. money with religious inscriptions on it.”

Is he crazy?

The corporate entity is based in Michigan.

When initially confronted, a company spokesman reflected that the critics were obviously, "not Christian."

On a side note, it was reported by the U.S. Army today that the spread of al Qaeda, in both geographic and numeric terms, is expanding faster than ever.

Frodo wonders if this company was running the Coakley campaign?

Actually, I'm not sure New Testament scripture is appropriate for a rifle anyway.
But as for the Old Testament ...

This sounds exactly like the neo-cons who spread their hate from their pulpits. Wonder how much commission the Pat Roberson's of the world are getting? Such ilk got the Ugandan's to kill the gays via spreading their false doctrines. Just how sick have such people become?

Tiny thinks they need to go back to their Scriptures and read where they are told to beat their swords (guns) into plowshares. For sure that is what our economy calls for so that people will have food on their tables, and have a table to serve it on.

It's time for the masses of people to take to the streets and demand that the politicians work for the people instead of the lobbyists who line the politicians pockets.

Hitler wanted to eliminate the Jews. Radical Islamists want to eliminate Christians and Jews. Fundamentalist Christians want to eliminate Muslims. Anyone care to explain the difference?

Adherents to the three major religions of the world had better wake up to the insanity in their midst.

Here a couple of verses which would be easy to inscribe on the guns: “Love one another” and “Jesus wept.”

BJ, instead of the Bible verses you quoted the Defense Department just gave the Trijicon company (putting the Bible verse chapter and verse numbers on the guns) a $660 million contract for more guns with the same inscriptions on the Trijicon scopes.

Remember when GW Bush first called his war "Divine Retribution?" Well I guess they still spread that word by using what they call their "Jesus Guns." Shows how sick some people are.

If it makes anybody feel better, note that the company has promised to halt the practice. Concomitantly, when informed of what they had been doing, General Petraeus was quoted as being "perturbed."
Frodo thinks a better word would be "pissed."
